We are seeking an experienced Seasonal Individual Income Tax Preparer to join our team during the busy tax season. The ideal candidate has prior experience in preparing individual income tax returns and is committed to providing excellent service to clients. This is a temporary, seasonal position with the potential for recurring seasonal work.
Responsibilities
- Prepare individual income tax returns (Form 1040 and related schedules) for a diverse client base.
- Conduct thorough reviews of all necessary information and documents to complete tax returns.
- Accurately calculate and verify tax liabilities, deductions, and credits.
- Assist senior level staff with resolving IRS notices or inquiries as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of client information.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 years of experience preparing individual income tax returns or appropriate level of school/trainings.
- Preferred proficiency in using tax preparation software (e.g., Thomson Reuters, Lacerte, ProSeries, Drake, or similar).
- Strong understanding of current federal and state tax laws.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client interactions.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule
- This is a seasonal position, typically running from January through mid-April.
- Flexible hours may be required, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client needs during peak periods.
